PhysioYoga

Want to try yoga but don’t feel to join other regular yoga or meditation classes because of a physical limitation, or a busy mind?
I understand this and so designed this class to encourage those who didn’t think they could participate, to come and experience all the benefits of yoga.

You’ll receive my expert guidance and wealth of knowledge as it relates to your individual condition, and be encouraged to explore classic yoga postures in your own way, and with your own needs in mind. Perfect for the nervous system restoration and resetting that is often missing in the fitness-phase of yoga these days.

PhysioYoga is in a typical yoga class format, much like a “moving meditation” that integrates mental, emotional, physical and spiritual awareness of yourself. Classes are kept small for increased supervision, personalised attention to details, and modifications as necessary. These classes give you a greater awareness and understanding of your body, yourself as a human being and life in general.

Particular emphasis is placed on:

  • Respecting your spine

  • Fully accessing and connecting with your breath

  • Addressing each individual participants concerns

  • Asanas (postures) for common body imbalances (especially from sitting and other modern, work-related demands)

  • Postural awareness and stability training

  • Body awareness and self-management strategies

  • Connecting with the power of your mind and breath to heal.

  • A comprehensive meditation component draws on spiritual aspects combined with NLP techniques, and sound healing is also offered.

Classes are 75 minutes.
Everything is supplied, however you may bring your own mat if you prefer.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing with layers in winter, and bring a water bottle and towel if you sweat a lot in summer.

Private Health Insurance rebates are regrettably NOT available on this class due to recent legislative changes from 1st April 2019.
